Winter is wonderful in Maine, and the snow and ice can be very picturesque. In the Moon over Camden image, we can see the snow on the shore, the ice on the surface of the harbor and the lights of the town reflected on the water. The boats are all sealed up for the winter. The moon gleams brightly over the town, and the stars are all visible in the clear sky.
On another day, in another place, we might see ice covering the branches of the trees, or just a dimly perceived view of an island through the falling snow. With handwarmers in our pockets and footwarmers in our boots, we head out on skis or snowshoes to take advantage of what beauties we can find.
